HOUSTON (KIAH) — We have followed the Skeleton Crew Adventures journey from their sails out of Kemah to the Ocean Globe Race and now they’re bringing their sailing mission back home.
April 15th will mark their first sail of the season. Founder and Director, Taylor Grieger says that sailing saved his life. He wanted to provide the therapy that sailing provided him to other veterans at no cost and from there, Skeleton Crew Adventures was born.
He says there’s a lot that goes into sailing and it can be pretty expensive, but despite the time and effort that goes into their journey, the good news is that they’re growing. However, they can’t do it without your help to support other veterans. “It’s a really good feeling that we’re finally getting back on the water and that the sun is out, we don’t have to worry about cold fronts coming in again and we can get veterans out. we have veteran sails lined up every single week until the end of October here in Texas,” Grieger said.
The Harvest Moon Regatta was the last event that the crew had here locally. The last time we updated you on their sailing adventures was for the big Ocean Globe Race. The team came back early and realized their mission belongs back here at home in Texas.
You can support the crew at their next event on May 3, 2024. All proceeds will benefit Skeleton Crew Adventures and give the community tan opportunity to hear what goes into making the Best Little Tequila in Texas and hear directly from the crew about their adventures at sea.
