HK’s Nicholas Halliday sailing to Paris Olympics

Hong Kong sailor Nicholas Halliday has booked a trip to the Paris Olympics next year.

He won the Asian Championships in Pattaya in ICLA 7 – becoming the first athlete from the territory to make the Olympics by winning a qualifying tournament.

Halliday ranked first for all but one of the race days, winning ten races and coming second in three others.

He edged Thailand’s Arthit Mikhail Romanyk by three points to take home the gold medal.
