Written by Christina C., Mate & Social Media on Nosy Be
On the morning of day 5, Open Water divers got to their first dive outside of the sandy, confined beach of Cooper’s and saw some amazing coral, lionfish, pipefish, and other creatures of a healthy reef. After a welcome morning thunderstorm, Nosy Be de-moored and headed to Soper’s Hole for shore time.
We fueled up and re-provisioned in preparation for the next few days, and campers were assigned to different boats to get a chance to see how other vessels sail and to enjoy the company of other campers. Once we arrived at the Bight of Norman, the Open Water divers completed their second and third Open Water dives and saw a barracuda and an octopus.
In the evening, everyone went ashore for a soda social. Many enjoyed playing beach volleyball or exploring the calm, sandy beach. After Mega fleet headed back to boats, Delta went on a night hike to an abandoned helicopter pad to play “maffia” and look at the stars.
