Follow Our Journey: Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot & Sierra – Day 20

Written by Olivia G., student on Blue Buddha

Today was our last full day in the BVI. Staff woke up at 5 am to motor us to The Baths National Park on Virgin Gorda, where we woke up with an amazing view of the rounded stacked rocks that are around the island. We grabbed something to eat and then snorkeled to shore. Anna explained how the rocks were formed by tectonic plates and manga bubbling up from the ground. If you knock on some of them, you can hear that they are hollow! We did a super cool hike while wading through water on a path that winded through the giant rocks.

When we got to the end, we took photos in our boat groups. After we got back to the boats, we motored to Cooper Island. Here we made sandwiches for lunch and started our deep clean. After packing and cleaning, we swam over to Vesper for one last playdate. We had a lot of fun! We then headed over to Tortola and docked at Sail Caribbean’s home base, Hodges Creek Marina.

We planned our boat skit and had a hot meal consisting of ribs, delicious mac and cheese, and vegetables. After dinner, each boat performed its skit in front of everyone. My boat sang a rap song we wrote. Other boats did Sail Caribbean Jeopardy, pretended to be staff, and acted out funny scenarios from the program.

Superlative awards were given out, and Blue Buddha won the most creative! We then watched a slideshow of pictures from the past three weeks and then headed back to our boats to write airplane letters to our friends, reflecting on our time together. We stayed up talking with each other for a bit and then headed to sleep.
