Follow Our Journey! Alpha & Tangos – Day 12

Written by Beckett W., a Mate on Topaz

Good morning Alpha Fleet. Happy 4th of July! Campers wake up at Anegada located in the north sound of the BVI. Clare and Conor prepare a delicious coffee cake on Topaz to start the morning. Pre-departure checks are underway and the crew is in good spirits.

Bill drops the ball at Anegada and navigates our vessel through the narrow Scrub Island cut. At the helm, Berlin maneuvers the boat through choppy water and assists Bill with navigation.

As we arrive to trellis the forecast provides cloudy cover making relaxing weather for water sports and colgating.

All ashore at trellis island, campers purchase snacks from trellis bay market to enjoy while they mingle with other boats. Later that evening campers dress up and wear face paint to celebrate the 4th onshore.

Meanwhile Topaz has a barbecue with Dreamer with delicious cheeseburgers, hamburgers, and hotdogs! On shore we arrive to the party where a dj and bar are set up for the kids to enjoy.

Campers shop at the local famous Aragorns art shop where they bought the coolest t-shirts ever! As the night ends, campers on Topaz prepare yet another delicious coffee cake to enjoy before their last day at the baths tomorrow.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
