Follow Our Journey! Alpha & Tango – Day 9

Written by Watt C., a Mate on Samoa

Early morning! Alpha fleet woke up at six to motor over to the Baths for a fun morning of hiking and snorkeling, but there were box jellyfish in the water. Oh no! Thankfully, our excellent leadership team made the right call and postponed the Baths trip to a later date.

Next, we started the sail to Scrub Island Resort. Smooth, downwind sailing! The skipper of the day, Parker, did a fantastic job at the helm. We recently found out we both love the Grateful Dead! We enjoyed talking about the band while we were underway.

Parker did a great job docking at Scrub Island. Our boat, Samoa, docked first, followed by the rest of the Alpha fleet. Everyone enjoyed the luxuries that Scrub Island had to offer, such as their market, stores, and pool.

Samoa had nachos for dinner tonight. Yum! Everyone enjoyed fresh water showers, too.

Another great day in the BVI!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
