In the world of luxury superyachts, where so many exciting new arrivals and tempting oldies turn heads at every corner, it’s hard to stay loyal to one boat. Yet, the owner of the beautiful Grand Bleu Vintage held on to it for nearly two decades – a real record.
The Grand Bleu Vintage’s last known asking price was “only” €2,3 million ($2.5 million), which is a small price to pay for a luxurious superyacht built by a prestigious shipyard that was freshly upgraded.
The Grand Bleu Vintage is just a little over 95 feet (29 meters). Boasting an 81 GT volume, it can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests in four cabins that include a spacious, full-beam master, two double cabins, and a twin, all with en-suite bathrooms. The beautiful layout also displays a remarkably large al-fresco dining area with a dining table, generous seating, a built-in fridge, and a practical foldable Bimini that provides on-demand shade.
Additional lounge space, with added sun pads, can be found at two more onboard locations, including the coach roof. Guests who prefer being as close to the water as possible can enjoy a generous foldable transom that doubles as a swimming platform.
Designed for cozy vacations in tropical places, the Grand Bleu Vintage doesn’t lack prowess either. Unlike younger models, it offers the benefit of a proven trans-oceanic crossing record. The 410 HP Cummins is a new addition with less than 500 hours since the summer of 2023. Together with the new generators that were added around the same time, the main engine ensures a smooth, enjoyable ride at no more than 11 knots (20 kph).
Following two recent refits, in 2019 and 2021, respectively, the French yacht claims to be in great shape. In addition to the new equipment, it was also endowed with a fresh sailing system. Style-wise, the Grand Bleu Vintage flaunts the elegance of a modern classic. Built in aluminum, it reveals high-quality interiors with abundant mahogany, maple, and Alcantara. This is a contemporary pleasure craft with a classic feel.
The yacht’s former owner purchased it just two years after its launch and has held on to it for almost two decades. Prior to that, he had three more boats custom-built at the same French shipyard, and he didn’t mind sharing the Grand Bleu Vintage with charter customers.
Built by CNB, an expert in sailing yachts, and boasting a timeless design by Philippe Briand and Vripack, this revamped 21-year-old beauty is ready for at least two more decades of luxury cruising.
