It was another early morning wake up in the mooring field at Anegada. We woke up to a wonderful breakfast and quickly got ready to depart the beautiful island. The campers raised their sails and headed to Cooper Island for a quick cleaning, packing, and swimming session before we all met up at Hodges Creek Marina.
Each boat docked with great teamwork and it was so cool to see how much they have learned in the past two weeks. It is awesome to think that most of them had no idea how to sail, throw lines, or dock when they left Hodges Creek and now they are professionals!
After the dockings, the crews worked on cleaning the boats so they were nice and clean for the next program. They also worked on packing and preparing for the skits.
Soon after, dinner was ready! A lovely display of ribs, mac & cheese, and veggies were ready for the campers to eat. And with full bellies, they were ready for the skits, slideshow and awards.
The skits were amazing and they included performances from songs, to America’s Got Talent, to a reenacting of a boat losing a bucket. And it all finished with a song that the staff made for the campers. Then, it was time for awards: FLX won Olympics, Malia won dinghy dares, LBG won party animals, Vesper won Cool as a Cucumber, Tropical D-Tour won Chili Cook Off, and Mile Hi L’Attitudes won fastest boat.
It was soon time to go to bed as the next day would be an early morning departures. For the staff, we were so sad to say goodbye to this program and all of the kids. We had such a great time and we hope to see everyone back here next year!
