Follow Our Journey: Bravo 2, Charlie 2, Foxtrot 2 & Sierra 2 – Day 20

Our last full day in the Caribbean did not go to waste! Staff woke up at sunrise to motor the boats over to Virgin Gorda so that campers would get to experience the magic that is waking up to the beauty of the Baths National Park. We had breakfast and then snorkeled to shore.

Here we learned about the formation of the park and began a really cool hike on a path that weaved between the boulders. The park is made up of volcanic and granite rock that, through the slow cooling of molten rock and weathering, left massive boulders stacked on top of each other. We took photos with our boat in the “cathedral,” a famous picture spot, and then headed back to the boats. We then raised our sails one last time for Cooper Island, where we cleaned our boats for the last time before docking at Hodges Marina. Once docked, we took our ASA and Crew, Mate, and or Bosun exams to make things official! We had a hot meal on the docks of ribs, mac and cheese, and veggies for dinner! We then all gathered by the office, where awards and superlatives were given out. Each boat then performed a skit!

We saw some boats reenact a memorable moment that occurred on their boat, while others pretended to hold a meeting dressed up as different staff members. Then we watched the slideshow that was put together from all the awesome photos over the past three weeks. Campers definitely felt sentimental as they looked back at moments from the start of the program and all the new friends they made. Campers got to take showers on land and write airplane letters to give to their friends, before powering down for our last night in the BVI.
