Follow Our Journey: Delta 2s, Days 6 & 7

Bonjour from Anse Marcel, St. Martin! We are officially DOWN ISLAND! Our kiddos on Delta completed their first overnight sail of the program and we are so proud of them. Everyone helped out, participated, and learned so much. We watched our crews better their navigation and night watch skills, as well as enjoyed the pristine starry sky, without the light pollution from land. There is truly nothing like it! We sailed a close haul all the way from Virgin Gorda to Marigot Bay, St. Martin, and made good time while we were at it. We arrived to Marigot around noon yesterday, July 24, cleared into customs and immigration, and immediately took ocean showers and went to shore for dinner at Le Main A La Pate, a Sail Caribbean favorite here down island. We ordered everything from carbonara to lobster to good old pepperoni pizza. Crews were happy to enjoy some well-deserved meals after a good passage. After dinner we walked around town, and eventually, headed back to boats for an early goodnight as everyone was exhausted.

Morning came, and we let our campers sleep in a bit before we headed here, to Anse Marcel to anchor out and enjoy the crystal clear waters. We had yummy leftovers from the night before for lunch, and after our snorkels and playtime in the water, we took naps, read books, and had some much needed down time. Tomorrow, we are headed to the lovely french island of St. Barths for more fun in the sun.
