With alarm clocks beeping and music blaring from the boats of alpha fleet- the sound of the start of the day could be heard all around Great Harbor at 7:00. It was a beautiful and windy day ahead of us as we made a grand breakfast and got ready to drop the mooring balls.
Divers and those taking the Colgate boats began to get ready then once they had been fed and watered they were off on their ways leaving the rest of the fleet to start their pre-departure checks to begin their sail to scrub island.
After a lovely sail and lots of fun had by divers and those on the Colgates, alpha fleet merged back together to spend a fun afternoon at scrub island. whether it be on the trampoline, in the pool or simply buying a ring in the market- there were plenty of activities to keep our campers entertained.
At 5:00 shower rotations began and everyone enjoyed the luxury of a fresh water shower then began making dinner.
After dinner boats socialized and mingled until boat meetings began. While discussing our highs, lows and buffalo’s of the day it was clear to all that it had been a day full of lots of laughs. The “buffalo” means something that was fun or exciting that happened that day.
Overall, the campers had a packed day full of learning, sailing, and having fun on Scrub Island.
